I make unhurried family photographs across Seattle — quiet sessions built around real light and the places your family already spends its time. No stiff posing, no studio backdrops: a slow walk through a park you love, an hour of playing and talking, and photographs made to last — the kind you frame, the kind you hand down.
Where we can shoot in Seattle
Discovery Park is the one I recommend most — bluff meadows, driftwood beaches, and the lighthouse give a whole session’s worth of variety in a single walk, and the late light off the Sound is hard to beat. Golden Gardens is the classic beach session: bare feet, bonfire light in summer, the Olympics on the horizon. Gas Works Park brings the city into the frame — kite hill with the skyline behind you reads unmistakably Seattle. For fall color, nothing beats the Washington Park Arboretum; for something closer to home, Green Lake or your own street works beautifully — some of my favorite photographs happen in living rooms and backyards, the everyday made into something you keep.
What a session is like
Sessions are slow and kid-paced. We choose a location and a time with good light — usually the last two hours before sunset, or a bright overcast morning — and I photograph your family the way it actually is: holding, chasing, laughing, resting. You’ll get a full online gallery to choose from, and as many good photos as we can get, you will get.
Pricing
One session is $700 — the location of your choice, and every good photograph from the day delivered in an online gallery. Details on the Sessions page.
Common questions
When should we book? Golden-hour weekend slots in summer and fall go first — a few weeks ahead is safe.
What should we wear? Simple, comfortable clothes in calm colors photograph best. I’ll send a short guide when you book.
What about toddlers who won’t sit still? They’re not supposed to. Sessions are built around moving kids — the running is the picture.
